The Arapahoe County Sheriff SWAT team assisted Boulder Police SWAT with their MARS RDD Elevated Tactics System during a barricade situation in Boulder, CO.
The suspect, who was wanted by police on several criminal charges, barricaded himself in his home for nearly 5 hours until SWAT utilized the MARS system to breach a 2nd floor window. Officers could be seen standing behind the protection of the MER Ballistic Panels, while using the MER Lighting System (MLS) to illuminate the target window, while they located and negotiated with the suspect. SWAT, Negotiators, and a mental health clinician, who was called to the scene to help with the negotiations, were able to take the suspect into custody without harm or force.
